Easy Focaccia
Focaccia forever amiright?! This focaccia is SO good, like you need to make this stat! So chewy and salty and morish and just so damn good.
It only needs a few simple ingredients and the result is well worth the proving time, which to be honest is the most tedious part of this recipe!
Top with any and all of your favourite ingredients and eat warm from the oven. Although, if you do that, I can't promise you'll have any left for later!
Simple Focaccia
A simple recipe that is a total crowd pleaser!
Ingredients
- 3 1/3 cups '00' flour (best) or plain spelt flour
- 1 tbs coconut sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
- 2 1/2 level tsp dried yeast
- 2 cups warm water
Instructions
Place water, oil, sugar, salt, and yeast into a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Knead for 5 minutes until the yeast has dissolved.Add flour and knead for 15 minutes. The dough will be quite runny after this time. Pour into an oiled bowl and cover for one hour or until doubled in size.Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Lightly grease a brownie pan or any pan (round, square) that has a lip on it. Ideally 30cm x 20cm x 3cm. If your pan is a different shape, you may need to cook it a little less or a little more. Top with extra olive oil and salt and any toppings you prefer then bake for 45-50 minutes until risen and golden brown. Cool slightly then slice and serve.
