Although the title of this recipe doesn't really draw you in (well, anything with the word 'stew' kinda makes me question it thanks to old bland Australian-style stews) this dish really is something special.

This week I've got a super cosy and warming recipe for you guys which tastes SO much better than a packaged pre-mix and is seriously just as easy!
It's back to school on Monday and I've have seen a whole bunch of mums and students tagging me in their recreations of my old-school zucchini slice this week.
What a week! I've barely cooked. Renovations are tiring! I didn't realise this for so long but this week I started to 'itch'. I wanted in on my hazard zone of a kitchen! The biggest part of the reno is almost finished so I got into my kitchen this afternoon to whip up this hearty, healthy and oh-so-satisfying chickpea cacciatore with super soft polenta.
This supergreens pesto is so so easy to whip up at a moment's notice to use a pasta sauce, which I actually do all the time because it's a cheap, nutritious and fast meal that is super tasty! Or as a sandwich spread, an awesome addition to quiches, frittatas and scrambled eggs, as a topping for pizza or even a dipping sauce for sweet potato chips! The list goes on!
Happy new year everyone! I'm back in the kitchen again and as you guys saw on Instagram today, I was getting my bake on and preparing lots of snacks including this healthy honey and oat banana bread for the week ahead.
Over the past few weeks I have been bringing you some delicious recipes in partnership with Just Veg. This week we have another two deliciously simple, healthy and fast recipes that are super easy to whip up. I've also got an amazing Mexican-style spice mix that you can make ahead of time and keep with your spice rack for anything from taco seasoning to the base of chilli con carne, or even a nice way to jazz up guacamole for your next BBQ!
This hummus has got allllll the things! Sweetness, spice, saltiness, and a little mouth-smacking sourness all mellowed out by a velvety smooth chickpea base.
What a battle getting a picture of this roasted tomato soup! Little Frankie (my 11 week old kitty) thinks anything that moves is purely for her attention and enjoyment. So laying out fluttery basil leaves and gangly spring onions was a whole big game to her!
I reckon I used to cringe big-time whenever I heard the words 'green smoothie'. Ummm no thank you, I do not want to drink a cold, savoury, thick and goopy beverage for breakfast. Breakfast is meant to HELP me get out of bed, not hinder me! I'll give myself credit though, I did persist everytime I went out or to a juice bar.
"I'll get the green smoothie, thanks"
One of my favourite ingredients since studying Ottoman cuisine has been dukkah. It's smoky, slightly spicy, crunchy and fragrant. It teams perfectly with anything from fish to chicken to veggies and I even love rolling boiled eggs into it or sprinkling some onto my hummus for extra flavour.
What a week! I feel as though it's flown by! And I guess it has - I've had my hands pretty full this week with lots of recipe work including this delish peaches and cream cake (yum!) and a new baby kitty, Frankie.
It's the second day of Summer but this morning felt like a big throwback to winter again. One day I'm sure I'll live in a city that doesn't have multiple personalities..ahem Melbourne I'm looking at you. 'Four seasons in a day' the saying goes about my home city and it couldn't be truer!
The arrival of december means the beginning of all things Christmas! I've got the tree up and decorated, the stockings are hanging from the mantle, the fairy lights are twinkling and now I'm getting busy in the kitchen making some healthy Christmas treats!
Well what a day! Today marks Isaac and mine's 8th anniversary together. We met in high school, year 7 to be exact when I had changed schools and ended up in Isaac's class. I made a great bunch of friends, a lot of whom I still call great friends today but Isaac wasn't one of them right away. His locker was above mine but we never spoke to each because you know - high school. So the silence continued for term after term until one day we had a 'battleships' competition in maths class.
Summer time and Christmas go hand-in-hand in Australia and I love nothing better than a good pav during the warm, festive season! I am so happy to be working with Pacific Epping on this gorgeous marbled berry pavlova, it's not too sweet and a little healthier than most <3
If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I've been sharing some of the recipes that are in the book but I thought it was high-time to give you guys a complete preview of what is included in From my Little Kitchen!
It's finally here! Pre-sale has begun on my very first recipe book - From my Little Kitchen: The Holiday Edition! I created this book with all of you in mind, and there are recipes for every taste and preference.
Even though Halloween is not something that is huge in Australia, I love seeing the festivities from overseas - all the dress ups and house decorations! I love watching the Modern Family halloween specials too! I think they are just too funny and love the competitiveness that Claire has for being the scariest house in the neighbourhood while her husband is petrified of everything!
On the weekend I asked my mum and dad to take me to the snow for my birthday. Even though it's not until next week it was the only day everyone could line up to be free. It's so funny how hard it is to organise 6 people when they all have different lines of work or study. So after I organised what seemed like a military-like operation to get the fam together, and we headed off to Lake Mountain near Marysville in Victoria. It's not very far from the city at all really, barely 2 hours. We got our snow gear and toboggans - the super quick 'carve' toboggans no less and parked the car.
