If I could only have one snack for the rest of my days, it might just be this tahini banana bread. I cannot explain how DELICIOUS and soft and morish and just utterly scrumptious it is!!
I have always been a lover of hummus and my recent trip to Israel and Jordan with Vibe Israel only solidified this love of mine! I ate hummus with EVERYTHING at almost every single meal!
I've been on the hunt for some chewy granola bars that actually hold together once they are out of the fridge for agessssss. There's no point making snacks if you can't take them with you when you're out and about! Luckily for me (and you guys!) I finally hit the nail on the head this week with these babies and with just 5 ingredients!
This week on the blog I'm sharing a great little recipe that I love for breakfast and snacks that's just a little bit different from the usual.
I remember getting a totally delicious coffee, date and walnut loaf from my local bakery when I was in primary school.
Nothing beats a quick, wholesome snack and these 5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies do not disappoint!
I've never been one for protein balls, they always seem super rock-hard, cakey or just tasteless. So I've been working on these simple, healthy and delicious Pistachio, Vanilla & Honey Protein Balls to give you guys a good, solid protein ball recipe to satisfy!
I have made these for my sister-in-law to help out with her milk production since our little cutie pie nephew was born. They are such a hit! Even with Isaac's brother, who obviously won't be needing to breastfeed! They have brewer's yeast in them which I buy from my health food store. It's full to the brim of B vitamins, protein and iron and it's perfect for keeping mum's energy up as well as to help convert carbohydrates into glucose for the body to use as energy. Other foods thought to be milk-stimulating or, the technical term, 'galactogogues', include oats, fenugreek and fennel. Do you guys make lactation cookies? What do you put in them?
Happy new year everyone! I'm back in the kitchen again and as you guys saw on Instagram today, I was getting my bake on and preparing lots of snacks including this healthy honey and oat banana bread for the week ahead.
Your morning tea is about a get a serious make over with my savoury butternut pumpkin muffins! I really love trying to squeeze in extra veg in different ways at snack times because, in all honesty, even though I'm a nutritionist, raw carrot sticks just don't do it for me.
You will LOVE these! They are dead-easy to make, only have 7 ingredients, naturally sweetened with beautiful fresh honey and packed with loads of slow-burning energy from the oats. Plus you can make them into any flavour you like!
I'm not going to lie, I have eaten SO many of these salted coconut bars lately. It's like heaven in a bite. They are just like healthy bounty bars but ten times better if you ask me. The coconut filling actually tastes like a coconut pudding with lots of texture and a subtle sweetness.
It's Saturday here which normally means MOVIE NIGHT! Last week we saw 'Spotlight' which was absolutely brilliant. A fantastic film. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. This week maybe 'Brooklyn' or even 'Concussion', I've heard both are fabulous.
I've always been one to pick zesty flavours over caramel/chocolate flavours because I find them super flavoursome and generally not as sweet. I always love enjoying a raw slice but they always have dates in them but I am actually sorbitol-intolerant and dates have a pretty large chunk of sorbitol in them. So to save looking 6 months pregnant after a coffee and cake date, I always end up going to something else.
Sometimes i'm actually so lazy on the weekend that i don't get around to eating until it's nearly lunch time. bad, i know. but i'm just sleepy and not that hungry right away and usually just enjoy basking in the sunshine in the backyard with my (fur) baby jessie moomoo and isaac over a cup of coffee.
