Hey friends! This week on the blog I am showing you how to perfectly boil your eggs. Boiling eggs is something I’ve always been terrible at. I leave them in the water too long or I start the timer at the wrong point and then they are wayyy underdone.

Introducing the Health Star Rating System

If you live here in Australia, you've probably seen packaged products at the supermarkets begin to show a star rating in the bottom corner of the packet. On some packets, there may also be a small depiction of the energy, sugar, salt and saturated fat content next to the star as well. Today I'm sharing with you a little introduction about the Health Star Rating system and why it's being introduced and used, how it has been developed and who actually provided the information for the system.

Tahini Maple Gluten-Free Granola

I was up bright and early today packing orders for MixMe by Naturally Nutritious to post out and had a real hankering for crunchy granola. I've made this Tahini Maple Gluten-Free Granola a few times now but finally got all the textures and flavours right!

Hi-Fibre Seed & Oat High Top Loaf

It's August already! Where has the time gone?! It's been six weeks since moving house now, and we are hopefully inching closer to finding our own little house but for now, Isaac, Frankie and I are living with his parents. Frankie is so brave with their dog, Harper, a labradoodle. I hope they become best friends soon because it'd be so cute and it would make my life easier not having to monitor them together all the time!

Raspberry, Pepita & Black Sesame Granola

If moving has taught me anything, it's to have your pantry organised! I had NO idea how many double-ups and bits and pieces were in my cupboards. I will say this in my defence though, the cupboards were small so I had tubs that I would put everything into and some of the ingredient bags fell out the back of the tubs and were nearly lost forever...

It is well and truly Autumn here in Melbourne with cool, crisp mornings that blossom into beautiful sunny afternoons. Although, you guys should know by now that Melbourne has weather Tourettes and you can expect to experience climatic perfection and natural disaster scenarios all within a day here!

Blueberry & Citrus Pancakes

A couple of week ago we went blueberry picking in Silvan, Victoria. It was fabulous! So fun and I definitely ate my fair share whilst picking. I was like Violet from Willy Wonka (the original, not that god-awful remake) literally turning violet from all the berries I gobbled up!

The first time I made cacao chia pudding, it was disgusting. It was hard, and crunchy, and really gluggy. I couldn't understand why because the instructions said "mix chia seeds and water in equal parts". For those of you reading this who have made chia pudding before, you know that:

I reckon I used to cringe big-time whenever I heard the words 'green smoothie'. Ummm no thank you, I do not want to drink a cold, savoury, thick and goopy beverage for breakfast. Breakfast is meant to HELP me get out of bed, not hinder me! I'll give myself credit though, I did persist everytime I went out or to a juice bar.
"I'll get the green smoothie, thanks"

Brunch with Mix Apparel

Nothing beats brunch on the weekend especially after a little exercise, it's such a relaxing way to ease into my days off after I've got my work out done and dusted. Before I workout, I always have a pre-workout snack and The Bar Counter is perfect. It's delicious, all natural and packed with nuts and dried fruit. Peanut butter is my absolute fave at the moment!

A Healthy Start to The New Year: Mix Apparel at Coles Supermarkets

Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful festive season and are getting back into the groove of healthy, balanced meals and a little more movement! I started my new year in Bali this year and it was absolute bliss. Think early(ish) mornings, long walks in the soft sand (great for your legs and pretty much like a foot exfoliation at the same time!), fresh smoothies for brekky, then a dip in the ocean, some beachside stretching and a walk back home. My go-to 'uniform' for my active routine has heavily featured the new Mix Apparel range now available at 740 Coles supermarkets nation-wide.

Easy Granola

I am a firm believer that there is no better way to clear out my cupboards than by making a batch of granola. i just go through all my little bags and jars and tip whatever i've got left into a big bowl until i'm sufficiently happy that i've cleared out all the little, annoying leftovers. this time though, i actually measured everything so i could tell you about it!

Easy Banana Pikelets

I love pikelets, i used to take little ones to school as play-lunch with jam. and in high school every single shrove tuesday (pancake day), my friends and i would go over to someone's house and either make 'shaker pancakes' from the bottle or open up a packet of golden circle pikelets and lather them up with nutella, milo, and ice cream.

Pumpkin Bread

I came up with this pumpkin bread recipe quite a few months ago after many, many failed attempts. Now that I've got it right, it's something that we make every fortnight and keep in the freezer for breakfasts and morning teas. It's a really nice alternative from the usual sweet/dessert-style breads that you normally see and I reckon it's one of those things that just goes with anything.

Mango Smoothie

Well, i reckon it is anyway. it's so luscious and silky and creamy yet lacks pretty much all of the exotic ingredients you see on social media because generally, i cannot justify spending upwards of $30 on a tub of superfood powder, or dehydrated berries when i can get my whole week's worth of groceries at the market for it even though all of those things are incredibly delicious.
